Pearls Events Favorite | Non-floral Centerpieces

I am not exaggerating when I say GRunveiled was more successful than I ever thought possible. My favorite part, naturally, was chatting - with brides-to-be, my fellow vendors, family & friends who stopped by to show their support, and even some devoted blog readers!

I had the opportunity to chat with one lovely reader (HI SARAH K.!!!) who is looking for an alternative to floral centerpieces. A post from January 2008 came to mind, as I blogged about these non-floral centerpieces a couple of years ago. I think they are perfect for her venue choice, and love the linens, branches and tissue flowers this bride put together.

I hope this post is helpful to anyone else looking for floral alternatives - get crafting, ladies!

1950's Inspired Wedding Tablescape

I have been planning the Pearls Events space at GRunveiled since November, and yesterday it was finally "on the table." As in, my actual kitchen table.

Today at St. Cecilia's, Kate and I will be styling a dinner table for two, dainty cake table, and travel-inspired escort card table using all the things I love - fun colors, Fiestaware, gumballs, polka dots, and daffodils.

With the generous help from a few of our favorite Grand Rapids wedding vendors (Abbey from Syd Design, Natalie from Stems Event Design, and Ken from MiraBella Confections) my random thoughts of retro inspired goodness, all came together for GRunveiled. Above are just a few photos I took during the mock up yesterday. Today the table will be complete with the awesome invitation suite, cake, and flowers.

Clover and Bee | A Vision for the Event

My second edition of A Vision for the Event is live on Clover and Bee today. I'm excited to be sharing how specialty linens make a huge impact on your overall event design. With the help of Telltale Photography, Stems Event Design, Events by I. Candy, MiraBella Confections, and The B.O.B. this photo shoot was a complete success to show of how linens can transform your event.

Check out the whole article here. And in case you missed my first edition, check out the write up about venue choices & event design here.

1950's Inspired Wedding Invitation Suite

Although our lovely 1950's-inspired wedding won't be complete until Thursday at GRunveiled, I could NOT wait to show you what Abbey from Syd Design designed for my space. I shared eight of the invitation options last week, and today I am sharing (almost!) the entire suite - including the envelope design, invitation, RSVP, reception menu, thank you note, and table "number".

The escort cards design & display may very well be my favorite part of the space, but I am waiting to share that after I have actual photos of it!

I went to Abbey with a color palette, the styles I liked, and gave her the freedom to do what she wanted. She came back with so many great options that I could hardly pick just one! If you're looking for a custom wedding invitation suite that reflects you and your style, I would highly recommend working with Syd Design!

Happy Anniversary | Amy & Carlo

Amy & Carlo were married one year ago today, on a slightly chilly and wet Saturday in March. They planned a gorgeous, traditional wedding in Grand Rapids with a perfectly elegant reception in the Imperial Ballroom. Working with this couple and their families was absolutely a memorable time for us!

Happy Anniversary, Amy & Carlo!
