Saving money as a bride
Who DOESN'T like saving money? I know when we were planning our wedding, I was always looking for a deal. So, when it came to caterers, we planned to meet with 3 different ones. We went to a taste testing at one of the banquet centers. The food was fantastic! We ate so many good things that night, we had no idea how we would choose the fare for our wedding. Then we went to the Brann's taste testing in February. The food was just as good, if not better, yet it was 1/2 the price! No joke, half the price! Well, that sealed the deal for me (queen of cheapness in west michigan). If I was saving 50% off the price of the food from other place, and it was just as good, there was really no choice. So, we went with Brann's.
Brann's was so easy to work with. They went over my whole menu, substituted items that we wanted, and waived the cake cutting charge because we did table cakes and cut them ourselves. They showed up the day of and served our guests fresh grilled steak (they were outside of St. Cecilia's grilling around back!) and everyone was impressed with the food. I was SO happy that we went this route and saved around $2500 for our 140 guests.
So, what did we do with the extra $2500 we saved? Splurged on the DJ & the photographer! And, I am SO happy we did this :) Our party went all night long on the dance floor and we love our pictures.
Moral of this post: figure out what is important to you and if you're all about saving money, skimp on less-important things. Good luck planning, brides.

I have to say; I went to three weddings right in a row, and the food at your wedding was the best of the three, I think. So even if you think you're saving money, you may not be lacking in taste! :)
