Did you splurge? If so, on what?

Even if your wedding budget is $100,000 it's still a budget. In all of your planning, you will have to decide what is really important to you, and what is necessary, but not going to make or break your wedding day.

Did you splurge on letter pressed invitations? Maybe an all-lace Monique Lhuillier gown? I am a huge lace fan and if I weren't so darn cheap, would have considered at least trying this gown on! What about the filet mignon dinner? Melt in your mouth yummy. Did you have to have those adorable chocolate covered strawberry favors? YUM! I had these at a wedding once, and let me tell you this: there were no leftovers! Did you splurge on a fantastic, retro photo booth for your guests?

Whatever your budget allows, I think there is always one thing that goes a little "over budget". For me, it was my photographer. We booked her before we were even officially engaged. It was my "must have" thing for the entire wedding and even though I had a bit of sticker shock, I look at my photos and get so excited about my wedding day.

What did YOU splurge on?

I feel a little lame, cause I honestly can't say we really splurged on anything. We even got married on a Thursday to keep costs down! :) But I have to say, our food was FANTASTIC! And food is always really expensive, so I would have to say we splurged on our food.

Your next post should be about what you scrimped on. :)

Same as you, I splurged on our photographer! That included splurging on their "photobooth without the booth"...I figured the pictures are the only tangible thing I'll have after the wedding, so that's how I justified it :)

We were pretty budget-conscious but really tried to make it look like we had a $100K wedding for $10K. We booked Egypt Vally CC but got the room for free because we booked for a Friday. That meant we could go a little more crazy on our food and opted to have sorbet served between courses to 'cleanse the palet'. Our guests loved it! We also had the tuxedo-dipped strawberries that were a hit! And I do believe that my flower budget got a little out of control ;). Those darn Knotties and their fabulous ideas.
