Holidays are a popular time to propose
I've been an avid reader of our local paper, The Grand Rapids Press, since I was in Jr. High. We got it delivered daily and I would always look through it after school, on the living room floor.
Yesterday while looking through the Press, there was a story on holidays being thee time to propose. I began to read the article and realized I personally knew a couple of the people mentioned: the bride from the first couple, Jen Buck of Graceful Expressions and the amazingly talented photographer + videographer, John Pottenger from Coastline Studios. Both of these wedding professionals are amazingly nice folks and I was pretty darn excited when I read their name in print. Most likely it's because the Press seems to be filled with stories about people I've never heard of. So, go read this article and if you get a chance to see the hard copy, complete with photos, read that!
And for all of you hope-to-be-engaged-by-New-Year's-Day gals out there, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you this holiday season. I know last year at this time, that's what I was hoping was under the tree for me. (And there wasn't. I had to wait until January 11th!)

Thats so cool!
I remember last year at this time I wasn't even engaged yet either! He proposed to me on the 21st in Seattle on the ferry to the island my parents live on.
Weird to think that was just a year ago!
I was about to blog about that article myself. A friend of mine was also featured in that article :)
