a twist on the toast
At Andy + Juli's wedding last weekend, the bridesmaids put a little twist on the traditional toast. Instead of just one lovely 'maid giving a speech, all five bridesmaids were involved. They made a list of Ten Things We Love About Juli and each girl recited 2 of the statements. The maid of honor ended the toast with the top two reasons, as she asked everyone to raise their glasses. It was heartfelt, no one was on the spot for too long, and it was fun to listen to.If your maid/matron of honor is hesitant to give a speech solo, this could be an alternative. As a bride, a speech about what a good friend you've been and some (brief) memories is nice to hear on your own wedding day from your best pals.
