My day began early with my assistant, Kyndra. We arrived at Ventura Pines and began setting up the tent and ceremony area. Summer had a vision of a beach wedding, and we made it all come together. She bought yards of burlap to use as table runners, and they turned out perfectly. We filled square vases with sand, ocean colored candles and seashells to bring the beach to the tables. Silver lanterns graced each table as well, and some tables had gorgeous flowers too. It was gorgeous!
Summer + Jim were married on the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan at 5pm. Kyndra + I lined the aisle with shepherd hooks, which had beautiful ocean-colored ribbon billowing in the breeze. On each hook was a silver bucket filled with amazingly fragrant pink + white flowers. After the ceremony, Summer + Jim went down the beach with their photographer, Jen of JK Photography, for some amazing shots.
Brann's catered the tented reception serving both chicken + roast beef. The red-skinned mashed potatoes were my favorite--they were delicious. After the food and cake was served, dancing began on the grassy bluff right above the beach. Guests also enjoyed the bonfire as the sun set and the party continued all night long.
It was an amazing day filled with their friends, family and a postcard-perfect location. I will have more photos to show you soon. Summer + Jim are doing a trash-the-dress session this afternoon with Jen, of JK Photography, and I will showcase everything later this week.
