I arrived at Windmill Island with my assistant, Kyndra, and began setting up the gorgeous white, draped tent, which is permanent on the island. We added the custom blue table runners to the decor before Ludema's arrived and placed their gorgeous centerpieces of all-white flowers, which included both hydrangeas and orchids. We had a few things to set-up, but were done quite quickly.

The 6pm ceremony was outside on the lush lawn. It was a warm summer evening, but luckily wedding programs doubled as fans! The ceremony was short and sweet, and the pastor did a great job. The newlyweds skipped down the aisle (literally) and were off to do photos with the lovely Amy Carroll and her assistant, Angie, while their guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Passed appetizers by Above and Beyond were available, as well as beer, wine + soda from Martha's Vineyards. Guests roamed the grounds of Windmill Island the entire evening to check out the beautiful gardens and the 240 year old working Dutch windmill.

Dinner began with a heartfelt speech by the bride's father followed by a toast by both the matron of honor and best man. Above and Beyond put together an amazing buffet, and no one went hungry. After dinner, Alicia + Troy fed each other chocolate covered strawberries in lieu of a traditional cake, and the dessert buffet was open. Till Midnight had quite the spread of desserts for everyone, but my favorite was the chocolate-peanut butter brownie which was to-die-for!

Dancing began with the newlyweds doing the rumba, which they learned at Social Dance Studio. The party didn't stop until midnight! Everyone was on the dance floor having a great time with Alicia + Troy. After the party, they were off to the new City Flats Hotel in downtown Holland for the night. Ooh, how I hope to stay there sometime--it looks amazing!

It was a gorgeous day for a lovely summer wedding. I cannot wait to show you some pictures from Amy Carroll--I will post some as soon as I have some!
