Sarah and I started our day at noon as we arrived on the gorgeous grounds of Brook Lodge for photos. Because of the rain, they weren't able to do photos in the gardens as planned, but Brook Lodge has some awesome buildings on the premises with plenty of old-world architecture that made for a beautiful backdrop. After photos, everyone was off to Third Christian Reformed Church for the ceremony.
Kristina + her mom did an amazing job working with Sophia to create truly inspiring wedding flowers--from the swag at the entrance and the beautiful altar arrangements, to the girl's bouquets and over-the-top centerpieces--it was all gorgeous.
Kristina is an elementary school teacher and sixteen of her students were involved in some way. From guest book attendants, junior ushers, and ribbon cutters to helping pass out programs, flower petals and directions to the reception--they all played a part.
Kristina + Dan threw a special reception just for her class + their families with punch, cookies + adorable mini wedding cakes from Sweet Cakes Design. The room was decked out in hot pink + green, and each child had a place card on a giant lollipop. Sarah + I were in charge of making sure if flowed well--both the chocolate fountain and punch line! The kids were on a sugar buzz when the newlyweds made their appearance for photos + well wishes. It was the best kid's party I've been to in a long time!
After the mini reception, the couple headed to Brook Lodge to join their guests for one gorgeous party. It was a tented reception and the flowers, decor and food was beyond amazing. Sentimental Jones entertained the guests for cocktail and dinner hour :: the lead singer had a beautiful voice. Fun 1, the DJ, was on hand for the dancing portion of the evening and although Sarah + I didn't stay until the end, I know the guests had a complete blast!
I hope to have some pro photos to show you soon, so stay tuned...
