a planner in bride's shoes :: amanda from bliss weddings
Hello Blog Land! My name is Amanda Freeman and I am the owner of Bliss Weddings, a wedding planning and coordinating company on the east side of Michigan. I know the wonderful Aletha already introduced me, but I thought it would be great to give you a little more insight into what I do. Over the next week, I will be sharing a lot of fun information and entertaining ideas.
Today, I wanted to start out with a Real Wedding. Nick & I were married on January 25, 2008 in front of a little over 175 of our closest family and friends. The day was beautiful and everything I could ever have imagined, but it is very different than planning a client’s wedding. After being in the business for a few years, it was strange to put myself into the shoes of the brides I work with everyday. I definitely have a new found respect for our Bliss couples!

I went against the grain and did the majority of the details myself. The flowers and paper products were the biggest DIY projects, and I love how they turned out. We did half floral and half candle centerpieces. My goal for the evening was to create a warm atmosphere on a very cold winter night. I went with a palette of chocolate brown, ice blue and white and used a lot of snowflake and branch ideas. If you have any questions about DIY projects, I would be more than happy to answer them!
I am really looking forward to guest blogging here on the Pearls Events blog. This should be fun! I hope you enjoy the photos and details of our big day. Check back tomorrow for some of my favorite Detroit area photog blogs!
