Yesterday was quite fantastic, even with the rain. Amber and I arrived mid-afternoon for some final set-up--I worked on the head table while she worked on the escort cards. Bethany began photos with the girls as we were busy attending to the adorable cake, memorizing the punch recipe and going over dinner details with Brann's.
The garden was set up with white chairs, pink + orange flowers, and all of the little details to make it look amazing. We brought out the programs, fans and parasols at 5:30pm, and at 5:35, the skies opened and it began raining. We quickly ran everything back inside, as it was pouring on our ceremony site. Although we had a back-up plan, getting married in the tent wasn't as picture perfect as the garden. We had been watching the radar, and we saw it was supposed to clear quickly. Guests mingled under the tent, and when the rain stopped, we seated everyone as quickly as possible. The wedding party made their way down the aisle and Kami was escorted by both her father and step-dad. It started sprinkling during the ceremony, but no down-pour. It was a picture perfect garden ceremony.
After the recessional, Kami + Dan released each guest by row. Photos were then taken at the ceremony site and in the backyard gardens. Guests made their way to the tent to enjoy cocktail hour, as they waited for the wedding party to join them for dinner. Dinner was served immediately following the prayer, and in between the salad course + the plated dinner, toasts were given. Cake was cut and served by Brann's as the couple started the dancing portion of the evening.
At a "normal" wedding, I load gifts into cars, take down centerpieces, and wish everyone a good evening, but since it was at the bride's parent's home, they weren't planning on doing that until today. Amber and I were home at a reasonable hour, and I enjoyed a late Saturday evening curled up with a good book. Quite a treat!
I am SO sorry to say I only snapped one photo, which was on Friday evening at rehearsal. I was a tad busy, but plan to get in contact with their photographer to see if she has anything I can blog with. Stay tuned...
