Rose + Brian couldn't have ordered better weather for their wedding on Saturday! It was a beautiful September day in West Michigan.
Alison + I arrived to set up the Dexter Ballroom at noon. We placed the chocolate linens on the tables, and began tying tangerine + chocolate ribbons around the crisp, white napkins. Alison rocked the napkin project, as I was getting the wedding party's photos organized with the photographer in the Royce Auditorium. Helen from Flowers + Such did an absolutely amazing job with the flowers on the stage--gorgeous topiary trees + beautiful candelabras full of flowers really made the ceremony site shine. Since the bride's name is Rose, there were roses everywhere--even at each place setting, tucked into the napkins.
The 4pm ceremony in the Royce Auditorium began and Rev. Brian Tuttle put together a beautiful ceremony. After the bride + groom were announced as husband + wife, the guests made their way up the stairs for the reception in the Dexter Ballroom. After appetizers were enjoyed by all, dinner was served family style from San Chez and included five awesome courses. Guests were so full, but surprisingly still had room for some amazing wedding cake, which was cut + served by the pastry chef himself, Kenneth Stevens of MiraBella Confections. WOW is all I have to say about this cake--it was SO good. If you're still looking for a pastry chef, contact Kenneth for a tasting.
After cake + coffee, Sal from Complete Music got the party started. The guests were on the dance floor all night long, and I went to the JW Marriott and decorated the honeymoon suite with, what else but rose petals! I had a complete blast--especially since the JW is brand spankin' new and I got to peek at their amazing suite.
Rose + Brian went on a pre-wedding trip to the islands, so they are home this week soaking in all the joys of being newlyweds. I hope to have some of their professional photos soon to post, so stay tuned...

I did a wedding a couple years ago where Reverend Brian officiated. Isn't he the nicest? We loved him and he really does put together a beautiful ceremony.
Wow, gorgeous tables!
The orange really looks great against the brown!
I was just gonna say how good their darker colors looked too!
St. Cecilla's is such a nice venue for smaller weddings.
Wow Aletha! I did not know she was one of your brides!! I hope Rose was happy with her programs- she gave me a short lead time so I did not have the luxury to spend lots of time on hers like I normally do... but she seemed happy with them and was an absolute doll!! :-)
I SWEAR that this wedding season is longer than in the past! HAs anyone else noticed????
oooh, that chocolate color is delightful!
