behind the scenes...

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have noticed that I've been working on a new logo for Pearls Events with my talented sister, Victoria. These are all preliminary compositions and not what the final will look like, however, I did want to give you a peek at what's been going on.

And early next week, I'll be posting an official job posting for an associate position. I cannot wait to find the right person to fill this important role. If you're interested, please email a cover letter + your resume to pearls.events(at)gmail(dot)com. The details of the position will be posted next week. Stay tuned...

Very nice! I can't wait to see what the final logo will look like, since these are amazing! I love the middle one, it's very martha stewart, but better because it's Pearls Events!

lindsey deyoung photography Jan 28, 2009 11:35:00 AM

Ohh!! I like the last one!

Rachel Jan 28, 2009 11:36:00 AM

I love the designs and how she did the play on using actual "pearls" in the logo!

Does the associate have to be located in GR?? :(

simply allie Jan 28, 2009 11:40:00 AM

I can't wait to see the new logo!

P.S. Any chance you need a Chicago associate? :)

Vanessa Jan 28, 2009 11:44:00 AM

I love these, especialy the last one, with its one red pearl! So exciting!

I'm really digging the top one out of the three, I like how it flows and still looks really simple.

This is why I didn't do a VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE LOGO contest. It's all over the board :)

Thanks for he positive feedback and I, too, am excited for the final decision.

As far as an associate, the details will be released next week, however the associate does not NEED to be located in Grand Rapids, however they will need to be able to travel :)

I'm not going to say which I like since you've already chosen and we can't see it.

They all look great and I cannot wait to see what you picked!!!!

This just makes me all the more excited to see you unveil the new look.
WooHoo!

BREE Jan 28, 2009 12:58:00 PM

I am loving what I am seeing - can't wait for the big reveal!

Katie Jo Jan 28, 2009 1:12:00 PM

The logos are great! Can't wait to see the final product. Wish I could apply to be your associate...but Saginaw is a little too far for a commute!

Very nice!! Even though you didn't as for a vote, my favs are the 1st and 3rd one! The first one is very unique and you can have that swirly string of pearls become your trademark (like the Nike swoosh, etc) w/o having to put any words with it. :)

Jessica @ budgetsavvybride Jan 28, 2009 1:47:00 PM

Your sister IS talented! I LOVE the first logo. You should definitely go with it- it's much more 'branded' if you know what I mean? Logos are the hardest thing for me as a graphic designer, haha

jessica lynn Jan 28, 2009 2:17:00 PM

ohhh the second one is adorable! cannot wait to see what you decided!

Lindsey Rietscha Jan 28, 2009 2:35:00 PM

I love the third one the best! Congrats on the big move to full-time! If I lived in Michigan, I'd totally be applying for the associate position:) Good luck, Aletha!

I love the first design. Very clean & unique, but also best illustrates your company name.

Event Girl Jan 28, 2009 3:23:00 PM

OK - I'm in love with the first design. There's movement, it looks like Pearls, classy font.
Then I just saw your office pics(darling), and realized that the logo is even more perfect with those red chairs!

Kerri Banyas Jan 28, 2009 9:18:00 PM

i am in love with the first...it has great potential to even be used without the words.....so at events people would see the swirl of pearls and say "oh Aletha did this wedding!!!"
I love it!

Kristina Jan 28, 2009 9:58:00 PM

love them all! can't wait to see the final decision

Robyn Love Steele::Calligrapher Jan 28, 2009 11:38:00 PM

Wow Aletha, love the choices! I too think the first is G-R-E-A-T so you much have really picked an AWESOME one!

As for associate...right now I am trying to convince my husband to move to GR...love to work with you.

Jena Lepitzki Jan 29, 2009 2:00:00 AM

Oh geez. All three are lovely, but if I had to choose one, I would pick the 1st one!

New logos are exciting.

Sondra's Ink Jan 29, 2009 8:21:00 AM

Even though it's not a vote, I love the first and the third is great too! But I tend to like logos that can be symbols (think Herman Miller, etc.) and don't require all the words to identify you. Wouldn't note pads with just your swirly pearl logo be cute, or cookies for a Pearls Events party, or as an embroidered design, etc. Ok I know, I am a theme nut!

Aletha | Pearls Events Jan 29, 2009 9:10:00 AM

All of you comments are great! Thanks for the positive feedback :)

Sam Jan 29, 2009 2:40:00 PM

Gosh, I don't know... I like all. I like how clean it looks!

Brenda's Wedding Blog Jan 29, 2009 3:00:00 PM

I LOVE the 1st logo - especially with the integration of 'event planning + consulting'. Can't wait to see the final logo......

Spark Creative Photography Jan 29, 2009 3:02:00 PM

I like the middle one!

Mrs. Designher Jan 29, 2009 4:39:00 PM

I adore the first one!! It looks like a strand of pearls :)

What about incorporating the first one and the second one? Just a thought from one graphic designer to another!

And if you don't mind, I would like to borrow your logo idea to post on my blog. I'm redesigning mine as well for a fresh crispy new look :)

Amanda B. Young Jan 29, 2009 5:47:00 PM

They're all gorgeous! My favorite though is the first. So original!

And man do I wish I lived anywhere near you so I could apply for that position. I would loooove to be around all your knowledge/expertise! But hey, if you ever want to expand to Florida, I'm your girl! ;-)
