pearls events :: giveaway
Today I realized that Valentine's Day is right around the corner and it falls on a Saturday this year, which means more people make plans. Since there are many newly engaged brides-to-be out there, I thought it would be a fun time to host a tiny giveaway.
Up for grabs is an adorable red Pottery Barn notebook to keep in your purse. I use mine to write/sketch/doodle when inspiration hits and I'm out + about. UPDATE :: I will also throw in a TARGET giftcard so you can spoil your sweetheart (or yourself!).
All you need to do is leave a comment about your Valentine's Day plans for your chance to win. I will be picking one name at random on February 1st so I can get it to you by Valentine's Day.

We're planning on going skiing and then we'll probably grab dinner on the way home.
Just wanted to let you know this is such a cute idea!
I'm married already, but really appreciate the note about Valentine's Day being on a Saturday... Now to decide where to make reservations! (Our plans will be dinner out and maybe a walk though Meijer Gardens. Very romantic =)
I asked FI what our plans were and he said that I am going to buy him some Reese's Big Cups and he would take me out to dinner. Then he added he might get me a card. haha How romantic! I am sure we will have bigger and better plans when the day comes!
My fiance and i will be in different states. I will me in Marquette, MI and he in Clinton, IA, but I'm hoping he does what he did for our second Valentine's together. He got me a dozen red roses in a beautiful vase and werthers candies.
We don't celebrate Valentine's Day in any special way because we like to spoil each other the rest of the year. I might send him a venus fly trap plant, though - he loves live plants and thinks the venus fly trap is cute. I'd wrap it with a big pink bow, though.
J has to work this year on Valentine's Day and won't be home until late... so I plan to pour myself some wine and peruse wedding blogs until he gets home! ;) Not too romantic, but at least I'll get some planning done!
We will be investing in our marriage the weekend following by going to 'Weekend To Remember' at the Amway Grand. This is something we did last year and want to make a habit of doing, setting our marriage on the right track!
The husband has never been big into Valentine's Day, but I usually come up with some way to celebrate it. We'll probably stay in and order a heart shaped pizza and watch a movie. I love heart shaped pizzas! :)
I'm not much of a fan of valentines day because almost all of my friends are single and they always feel awful that they don't have a significant other to celebrate it with. That said, FH is insisting upon taking me out to eat (he won't tell me where we're going- apparently it's a surprise) with another surprise while we're at the restaurant apparently...
It's my bridesman/FH's best friend's birthday that night too so after dinner, we'll be celebrating that as well.
I'm going to LA that weekend and probably going surfing and then later having some downtime with my bf. So it'll probably be a pretty laid back weekend. I'm not huge on Valentine's Day and would rather celebrate earlier or later.
We'll exchange Hallmark cards, dine at Red Lobster, and prepare to send out our wedding invitations. We did the couple's massage thing last year and it was one of the greatest hours of my life. :)
Hi! I'm a new reader and I love the blog. My FI and I are having fondue and wine at home. Can't wait!
Valentines day is always special to us, the past few years we have went to south haven and walked the beach. It is beautiful in the winter. Hopefully weather will allow us to do that again!
Oh no! You've reminded me Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Hmm...I'm not entirely sure what my husband and I will be doing yet, but I'm sure it will be naughty! :D
I'll most likely be switching shifts so a friend can she can visit her husband, he's away on business. FI works saturday nights anyhow, so now big deal.
I am one of those newly engaged that you spoke of :) For Valentines I want to cook him a nice dinner and have a romantic evening together. This will only be our 2nd Valentines together because for our first one, he was in Iraq.
Im sure hubby and I will be at home with the kiddos, and theres a pretty good chance our dinner plans will include Mac & Cheese. Good thing I enjoy mac & cheese!!
gee....would my "F-VD" anti-valentine's day party for girls without boys qualify? All chocolate & wine, and stories....
Andy will probably come home with flowers and we'll cook up a fancy little dinner together. Nothing too special, but special enough for us!
John & I have been married for almost 10 years now, but this V-Day we'll be joining several other couples at our church to have dinner & then watch the movie Fire Proof. I just need to book my sitter :)
My husband has to work since its an extremely busy time for the restaurant. Instead of being home alone on Valentine's Day, I am going to be spending it with him by working at the restaurant. That way we will technically be together and I can help out as well!
Love pottery barn and it would be fab to have a little bit of it in my purse on a daily basis!
Hopefully mine is different than last year - which was a "FVD" party at my house for single girls - all chocolate, pizza, wine, and girls stories....
This year I'm not hosting a party, but hoping for a quiet night spent talking with the one I love.
Since a babysitter is hard to come by on Valentines, my husband and I are going to put our daughter to bed and then sit down to a nice, quiet, (and hopefully romantic) dinner at home. We can't wait!
a single girls valentines day: dinner and a movie with friends, and maybe some girly drinks!
We are going to eat at one of our favorite restaurants here in Santiago, Chile (we are currently living here, but will be back in the States to get married in June!). The restaurant is called Giratorio and it is on the top floor of a tall building and the whole dinner floor rotates so you can see the whole city and Andes mountains! It makes a complete rotation in about 1 hour.
P.S. Congrats on going full-time with Pearls Events!
We'll be in Traverse City for Dan's work conference that weekend, and Saturday night is the big awards gala. It's the closest we'll ever get to the Oscars. :) We get to dress wayyyy up (tux and ball gown), eat a fabulous meal, and then party the night away before crashing in our fabulous suite overlooking the bay. What fun! :)
We're going to have dinner at our favorite restaurant and either head out for a movie or snuggle up for a movie at home. He always brings home a beautiful bouquet of roses for me too :)
My husband will be out of town :(, and I'll be busy planning the Brides Give Back event. We'll have to celebrate early!
Love the new site!
My FI and I will be spending the day with my future in-laws and our bridal parties making wine tasting and making wine as shower favors for the couples shower his mother is throwing us. I can't think of a better way to spend the day than with some of our closest friends, eating good food and drinking wine!
Big fan of the new site and office, by the way.
We got a gift card to Ruth's Chris for Christmas and we've been saving it up for Valentine's Day. We also set a $50 spending limit on presents and of course the every so lovely hand-made card we do for each other each year.
this valentines day will be our first as a married couple and the first that we are living together in the same city...I am so excited just to enjoy eachothers company with a homemade dinner and a movie...and a glass of wine or 2 :)
My fiance and I will be playing in the snow!! and hopefully have a lovely romantic dinner in a warm and cozy location =)
We're planning on dinner in and a movie, probably working on our reception seating chart too as our wedding is coming up sooooon!
My fiance is gifting me with a trip to the spa (he can't keep a secret) and I'm making Red Velvet cake and taking him to a fancy dinner.
I will be making my fiance dinner and hopefully will be going ice skating downtown!
P.S. lovin all the new updates with your blog!
My sweetie and I will be headed to a Couples Wine and Dine class! I'm so excited--he gave me the gift as a Christmas present and it doubles as a fun Valentine's date :) We're going to learn to make a four-course dinner and about the accompanying wines. I can't wait!
With two kids under age 3, I anticipate putting the kids to bed early and then preparing an "adult" dinner.
Pass the wine, please!
Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I will be spending this year's Valentine's Day apart. I have a stagette to attend, but we will celebrate before I leave.
Our favourite dates tend to involve a home-cooked dinner and cuddling in bed watching a movie. {sigh}
Simple & Romantic.
xo.
