Spotlight | Darrin Wassom Photography, Part Two

Because Darrin sent over images of Grand Rapids, I wanted to show off my favorite West Michigan city at night. Darrin's photos of the Grand River have gotten amazing feedback - CBS is using the bottom image on their new, digital billboards around the city. They licensed the image for a year to be used for up to three locations - with one of those being right by my house, so I see it often - the image looks awesome!
I've been a resident of West Michigan almost my entire life, with the exception of my college years spent in Chicago, and I love our city, especially on a summer evening. The Grand River runs right through downtown, and with all the lights on the bridges, it's quite spectacular. On a Sunday evening in July, the city is asleep and peaceful; a perfect place for a late-night stroll.

Absolutely stunning!
This is great. I have never been to Grand Rapids but you make me want to go. Awesome photography.
the second one is beautiful!
Awesome!! I love his earlier story about taking an even better photo of his own. I would love to see the one that inspired him because I am ADDICTED to viewing how every photographer has their own individual way of looking through their lens. It's fascinating how one is inspired by the same content but interprets it so differently!!
What a great photo Darrin!!
So beautiful! It makes me miss leaving class at night and walking over the bridge to the coffee shop! Definitely a gorgeous city at night!
Wow! Gorgeous pics all around. Thanks for these postings, Aletha. Love the new web design by the way!!
Can Darrin come to Kansas City to capture some of that city's magnificence? Of course, we will have to clean up the riverfront first......
ooh way to capture Grand Rapids!
