What makes a perfect ending to a fabulous dinner? Sweets, of course!
How do you decide on a cake? Taste is number one in my book, however, design is a very close second. If cake is important to you, either because of tradition, or because you are a cake lover, make sure you find the right pastry chef to bake & design the ultimate confection for your day.
There are many inspiring pastry chefs out there, but Cakegirls in Chicago is one of my favorite Midwest bake shops and they have a great online gallery to browse. April Reed has some phenomenal photos to look through too. And, of course, who can forget Sylvia Weinstock when mentioning wedding cakes? Talk about over-the-top cake inspiration!
Some of my favorite Grand Rapids bake shops include Mirabella Confections, Sweet Cakes Design, Second Floor Bakery and for amazing cupcakes, lil' Miss Cupcake.
