Recap | Eventology 2009
Katasha Butler of K. Sherrie + Co., was the driving force behind Eventology 2009 and I was thrilled to be a tiny part of it. One night last winter, Katasha and I started talking about bringing something to the Midwest via Twitter, and before I knew it, she was planning the wedding professional conference in Indianapolis. Katasha lined up the amazing speakers, had a logo designed, developed event materials, found linens for the tables, and everything else that goes into planning a fabulous event.
Intern Amy and I left Grand Rapids with Abbey of Syd Design early Tuesday morning and picked up Amanda from Bliss Weddings on the way. We arrived, checked into the Omni in Indy, and I headed to the registration table to assist checking in attendees. It went smoothly and I had fun meeting many people who I know via Twitter and this blog.
My fellow Michigan attendees and I headed to dinner at Sushi on the Rocks and then returned to the hotel for the networking event, which proved to be quite fun. A bit later, we headed to Club 6, which has the strongest martinis and the coolest bathroom doors I've ever seen - seriously. Abbey, Amy and I got to bed a little later than I thought we would, after getting some late night snacks at the Slippery Noodle.
Wednesday proved to be full of learning - from the marketing portion with Liene, to the sales presentation from Saundra, and then the final session about customer service with Terrica - I enjoyed the whole day. The Michigan ladies and I piled back into Abbey's SUV and made our way home.
It was a quick trip to Indy, but eventful, educational and completely fun! I tried to take some good snapshots, but these are all from my point & shoot. My awesome friend Jen, of JK Photography, was the official photographer for the event, so watch her blog for many more great shots of the event.
