Wedding Cake Alternatives
I love a great wedding cake - both in taste and design, but I know cake isn't for everyone. Besides the fact that a wedding cake can be quite expensive, not everyone enjoys cake for dessert and would much prefer an alternative. Yes, there is the tradition of the wedding cake and getting the cake cutting photo, but I do not have one friend who has an 8x10 of that shot on their wall.
So, what are you alternatives to a sweet treat at the end of the night? Whatever floats your sweet tooth is an option!
- Cheesecake - various flavors will satisfy any taste bud
- Pie - with so many fresh fruits available all summer, who could resist a fresh pie?
- Ice Cream - a sundae bar would be fun for kids & adults alike
- Chocolate covered goodness - truffles, toffees, mints - chocolatiers know their stuff
- Milk & cookies - the family's secret recipe served with milk (and coffee...) Yum!

that spread is SOOOOOO COOL, plus something similar can be done up in just about any color! brights or pastels both look wonderful with black and white accents / dark chocolate.
we did ice cream. Hudsonville has little 8 oz individual containers. We had 4 different flavors for people to choose from - they loved it!
We did cheesecake that was frosted/decorated and stacked to look like a cake. It was a fun surprise for everyone when they took their first bite and found out it was cheesecake instead of regular wedding cake!
