Lindsay & Brian were blessed with one of the most beautiful weekends this UpNorth wedding season! And Kate and I were thrilled to be a part of it. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Lindsay's mom coordinating all of the details she has spent months planning for the couple. They are not only a beautiful couple, but gracious, kind and genuine. It was awesome working with this family!
Kate and I made our way to The Homestead in Glen Arbor, Michigan on Friday afternoon. We arrived, checked into our room and got to the top of the ski hill. Rehearsal ran smoothly, all thanks to Barb & Lindy of The Homestead. The couple's families and friends celebrated with dinner at the Western Avenue Grill on Friday evening, while Kate and I caught up with a local event planner over dinner at Art's Tavern. It was a perfect evening UpNorth.
Saturday, Kate and I began setting up the details after a peaceful cup of coffee. We started with the gorgeous sea glass escort card display, the delicate shell stars over the mantle, the twinkle lights in the flower beds on the patio, and the memory table honoring loved ones. I met up with florist Marla Courtney Wood at the ladies condo during hair & makeup, and then checked in on the guys. Boutonnieres were pinned, bouquets were dried, guests arrived via ski lift and Brian & Lindsay were married overlooking Lake Michigan. It was a sweet ceremony with emotional vows and there was not a dry eye on the bluff.
Guests enjoyed riding down the ski lift to cocktail hour while formal family and wedding party photos took place overlooking Lake Michigan. Kate and I made sure everything was in place and even slipped in a ride down the chair lift ourselves.
Delicious hors d'œuvre and cocktails were served on the patio of Mountain Flowers Lodge before guests made their way into the dining room. Various toasts and a blessing preceded dinner, and a traditional cake cutting followed. Guests enjoyed themselves on the dance floor and in the photo booth all evening! Gourmet pizza was served toward the end of the night, and no one went home hungry.
It was an amazing day filled with fun, love and beautiful weather - we could not have put in a "better order" for the whole weekend.
Congratulations to Lindsay & Brian - we wish you nothing but the best in the many years to come!
