One Year on Louise Street

Since opening Pearls Events in 2007, I kept a part time job to supplement my income, however this week marks my one year anniversary of spending 100% of my work week in my home office. I will honestly tell you that walking away from a weekly paycheck and the benefits was not an easy thing to do, but I knew I had to dive in head first, otherwise the business could not grow.

Because I was no longer juggling a part time job, my schedule was much more flexible throughout 2009. I was able to meet with many local vendors and also able to head up West Michigan Wedding & Event Professionals. Travel was (thankfully!) possible and I was able to meet Arizona's finest planners plus further my education at Blogging Bootcamp, Eventology and Engage!09.

I cannot sum up my feelings about how awesome this past year was, but thank you to everyone who has made 2009 the best. Awesome clients, amazing vendors, faithful blog readers, personal friends & my family absolutely rock my world. I also could not have done anything without my sweet husband, Greg, who allows me follow my gut and continue growing this business.

2010 is shaping up to be quite a fantastic year and it's only February 2nd. And I am already looking forward to the weddings, travel plans and educational opportunities this year holds.
