Megan's Inspiration | Bouquets

Flowers are a huge part of any wedding, and I especially enjoy admiring the gorgeous bouquets. Between size, shape, color, and the type of bloom you want included, there are lots of things to think about when deciding on your bouquet. Many bouquets are round, symmetrical, and "stand up" as you're holding them. I love the idea of a bouquet that cascades out of your arms with a little more asymmetry, or a long, lean bouquet of tulips (Aletha's personal favorite) gracefully cradled in your elbow. These different shapes allow the flowers to fall in a more organic and natural form while being a little less predictable which always catches my eye.

Something else to think about when choosing your flowers is which blooms will be in season for your wedding. If your wedding is in September and you’re crazy about peonies, they're bound to be more expensive than if your wedding were in June. When talking with your florist, mention your favorite flowers and ask if they have suggestions for other flowers that have a similar shape or texture which will be in season for your wedding. If you just can't live without your peonies, have them only in your bouquet with other flowers as centerpieces and in your bridesmaids bouquets. They will still be in many of your photos and you can enjoy them without splurging too much.
